Each child is unique in their own way, having specific interests and abilities beyond the curriculum taught within the four walls of the conventional classroom. The aim of education is to ensure overall development of the student. To achieve this aim, curriculum is not the only criteria. For the holistic growth and personality development of children, classroom teaching needs to be supplemented by co-curricular activities. Through these activities, students explore their interests and potentialities and further sharpen their skills.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan aims to bring about holistic development of the students. Kendriya Vidyalaya NIT Agartala endeavours to bring out the latent talents within each child by offering a platform for exploring themselves. On each Saturday, except the second Saturdays of each month, the last two classes are reserved for Co-curricular activities. Different co-curricular activities have been scheduled, and are being carried out accordingly. The varied range of activities include singing, dancing, drawing, painting, creative writing, debate, elocution, calligraphy, quiz, card making etc. Apart from these activities, different events are celebrated on their scheduled dates with a wide range of activities like cleanliness drive, tree plantation, public awareness rally etc.
The amalgamation of curricular and co-curricular activities ensures all-round development of the learners. The co-curricular activities imbibe in students certain values like discipline, punctuality, team spirit and a sense of responsibility, and thereby lay the foundation of making them good citizens of our motherland. Students participate in many group activities that help them in socialization, self-identification and self-assessment. The endeavours taken by Kendriya Vidyalaya NIT Agartala are surely going to meet the desired ends and bring a positive change among the students.
